Teddy Atim awarded an inaugural Postdoctoral Fellowships at York University

CSiW collaborator Teddy Atim was awarded one of the inaugural Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies at York University to continue her important work on the legacies of conflict-related sexual violence and the continuities with existing gender violence in communities in northern Uganda.

Building on her years of research and humanitarian experience, Teddy will explore how local “social- cultural narratives about relations, gender, sexuality, identities, morality, etc., continue to shape women survivors’ and children born of war’s post-conflict lives and realities in northern Uganda many years after the conflict; and seek to understand the extent of intergenerational effects of wartime sexual violence on CBoW, especially the long term effects on young men and women in the post-conflict societies.”
